Petroleum Development Oman LLCRevision: 3.0Effective: 1 Apr 20095 Ambulance Services5.1 Ambulance VehiclesAll ambulance vehicles shall comply with the ambulance code and following minimumrequirements:Air conditioned throughout the vehicleLong wheel base 4-wheel drive vehicleSufficient capacity for carrying one or more patients lying down on stretcher(s)well secured to the vehicle, and a nursing attendant. A sideways facing seat forcarrying each stretcher shall be acceptable if it is a permanent seat and at least aretractable-type 2-point seatbelt is fitted.Any equipment, cupboards and doors shall be properly secured inside the vehicleIt shall be possible for the nursing attendant to communicate directly with thedriverThe vehicle shall be fitted with a radio, siren, and flashing warning light.Each ambulance vehicle shall contain medical items and equipment inaccordance with PDO's Minimum Requirements for Ambulances (refer toAppendix P). For more details refer to ambulance code of practice.Each ambulance shall be checked daily to ensure that it is road worthy,regardless of whether or not the ambulance has been recently used.5.2 Ambulance DriversAll ambulance drivers shall meet the following minimum requirements:Physically and mentally fitWork in the vicinity of wherever the ambulance is based at all times, to enable amaximum response time of 10 minutes.Competent First AiderCompetent in Casualty Management (PDO-approved course "Basic LifeSupport") Competent in off-road driving.
