Fortytwopercent <strong>of</strong> the farmers grew chickpea, with no significant difference between thethree groups. Among the reasons farmers gave as helping the cultivation <strong>of</strong> chickpea,availability <strong>of</strong> irrigation was ranked first, followed by good soil moisture and suitablesoils.
