5 Result5.1 InterviewsThe structured <strong>in</strong>terviews made among the rural population <strong>in</strong> the study area, showedgenerally a positive attitude aga<strong>in</strong>st energy projects such as small-scale hydropower. Toemphasize the importance of reach<strong>in</strong>g a target group, which is as correct as possible, wechose not to <strong>in</strong>terview persons liv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> any k<strong>in</strong>d of population center. A samplepopulation of 65 <strong>in</strong>terviewees was randomly chosen, 33 women and 32 men. Thedistribution of occupation among the <strong>in</strong>terviewees can be seen <strong>in</strong> Figure 5.1, whichshows that there were a majority of farmers.Figure 5.1 Distribution of occupation of <strong>in</strong>terviewees.One purpose of the <strong>in</strong>terviews was to receiv e an understand<strong>in</strong>g of the liv<strong>in</strong>g standard <strong>in</strong>the area and what sources of energy that are most frequently used.
