7 Settings and Methods SECTION I : Lovis 2000 M/ME Reference7 Settings and Methods7.1 Measuring System SettingsIn the Measuring System Settings for the Lovis Module you can create, edit ordelete capillary configurations, (de)activate the capillary detection and set thefilling position. A capillary configuration is a capillary with one type of ball. For instrument firmware version 2.32 you can also enter or import data of solventsfor polymer applications.TIPYou can access the measuring systems settings only with administrator ormanager rights.7.1.1 Capillary AdministrationTap "Menu > Setup > Measuring System Settings > Lovis Module > CapillaryAdministration".The list of available capillaries is displayed. Upon delivery this list is empty. Youneed to install at least one capillary to perform a measurement. To add a new capillary1. Tap . There are two possibilities:• Select "Create New Capillary" and tap . See point 2.• Select "Import Capillary Configuration" and tap . See point 3.2. Enter the following data for a new capillary:• Ball type, capillary diameter in [mm] and length, capillary serial number(engraved on the glass surface) and the name of the capillaryconfiguration. Short capillaries (only with instrument firmware 2.32 )see Chapter 3.1.3.• An internal checksum verifies that the capillary serial no. is valid.• Define whether the capillary requires an adjustment.TIPYou can store one capillary with different ball types by using different names. If measuring runtimes and relative viscosity values only, it is not necessary toadjust the capillary. Find more information in Chapter 3.1.1 and Chapter 3.1.2.• Tap to save the settings.3. To import a capillary configuration you need a data file on a USB flash drive. If you have ordered a factory capillary adjustment this file is supplied with thecapillary. You can also use data already stored in another Lovis 2000 M/ME(see below "To export a capillary from the list").42 C72IB002EN-E
