IntroductionThis publication aims at presenting statisticalindicators for measuring the progress of Hong Kongtowards an information society. The statisticalframework adopted in this publication followsinternational guidelines, including the UnitedNations’ Manual for the Core ICT Indicators andMeasuring ICT: the global status of ICT indiactors.An information society is featured by intensive useof information and communication technology(ICT) by businesses, households, government anddifferent sectors.
