Finance and Administration Section Responsible for helping determine the short and long-term fiscalimpact of the emergency Responsible for cost accounting and compensation claims,timekeeping and EOC administration, and tracking expendituresthroughout an incident or emergencyThe Finance Section may include representatives from Finance & Business, Human Resources,Auxiliary Services, Human Resources, Housing and Resident Life, Network Services &Telecommunications.6. Essential StaffEssential Staff are those <strong>University</strong> personnel that work within one of the<strong>Emergency</strong> <strong>Operation</strong>s Group Departments, members of the <strong>Emergency</strong><strong>Operation</strong>s Group, and other personnel that may be designated as essential ofthe department Director.Essential Staff are expected to be directly involved with the response andrecovery actions as the result of a major emergency or disaster. Immediatelyupon notification of an emergency or disaster, Essential Staff should stand-byfor specific tasks, or follow department policy with regards to reporting towork during emergency or disaster conditions.Each director of an <strong>Emergency</strong> <strong>Operation</strong>s Group Department is responsiblefor determining Essential Staff in each respective department. The Director ofeach department must then:a. Notify the Auxiliary Services Office so the “Staff/EMT” designationmay be placed on the employee’s identification card.b. Notify Human Resources Office when a vacant or new position isposted that is considered essential.c. Ensure that all employees identified as Essential Staff annually reviewthe <strong>Emergency</strong> <strong>Operation</strong>s <strong>Plan</strong> and their possible involvement duringa major emergency or disaster. The <strong>University</strong> <strong>Emergency</strong>Management Coordinator may assist with training at the request of adepartment Director.15
