The preservation, conservation andreplenishment of these resources is also included.SITUATION AND ASSUMPTIONSSituationThe university should acquire those resources required to cope with hazards posing a potentialthreat to the university.AssumptionsThe required resources will be available to provide for the warning, evacuation and shelter/masscare of the endangered population. Additional resources will be available from local, county andstate agencies, if needed.CONCEPT OF OPERATIONSA. University departments will use their own resources and equipment duringemergencies and will have control over the management of these resources whenthe resources are needed to respond to the emergency situation.B. The Director of Purchasing will prepare routine procurement procedures for theacquisition or replacement of resources during day-to-day operation and alsodevelop a procurement system to acquire expendable supplies duringemergencies.C. An inventory list identifying the resources and the procedures needed to activatethe resource at any time will be kept in the University Purchasing Office. Alisting of available resources and the department with ownership will also bemaintained in this office.E. Materials Management shall serve as the single source of supply and support forall other emergency services and will be the only department to request retractionof services during recovery.53
