PERRY HELPS ZULU TEAMPERRY McGEE, a retired police detective and a member <strong>of</strong> IlkleyLodge No 1552, has visited a remote area <strong>of</strong> Kawa Zulu Natal,close to the Mozambique and Swaziland border wheremembers <strong>of</strong> Olicana Lodge No 1522 kindly donated andsupplied a full football kit for a recently formed Zulu football team.The team is organised and run by a local game warden whohopes to detract the local boys from crime, especially animalpoaching. The “happy boys” team were delighted by thedonation.Bro McGee said: “Being a former rugby coach I was able togive a few tips on team bonding and exercises, all <strong>of</strong> which wentdown well. The captain is named THULANI and he walked fivemiles to take part in the training. The boys play in a localtournament and gave me a traditional Zulu song and dance tosay thank you. He highlighted important dates andsaid that a booklet would soon be available, detailing a fullhistory.R W Bro Clayton was pleased to present the CentenaryWarrant to W Bro Simpson, who said this would be framedand placed next to the original Warrant <strong>of</strong> Constitution. ThePGM handed centenary jewels to Lodge members, whowere presented by the director <strong>of</strong> ceremonies, W BroHammerton.The Festive Board mirrored the original banquet servedat the inaugural meeting.• W Bro Simpson presented a cheque for £3,463, forthe PGM’s Fund, the money having been raised by theBrethren over the last five years.
