THE N.E.S.T.Taekwondo Club in Rotherham hasbenefited from a £500 cheque from theEnsor Drury Lodge No 3278 and themembers are pictured with Brethrenfrom the Lodge – Jim Dixon, Tim Masonand Keith Payling.LIFELITES SUPPORTLOCAL Mason David Landy helped bringa little extra cheer to Martin House hospiceby helping children’s charity Lifelites buyan amazing home entertainment systemChildren at Martin House, in Wetherby,are ‘overjoyed’ with the new system,provided by the dedication <strong>of</strong> Lifelitesvolunteer W Bro Landy, <strong>of</strong> Lodge <strong>of</strong>Unanimity No 154.Originally a project <strong>of</strong> the RMTGB,Lifelites is the only charity dedicated toproviding and supporting fun andeducational technology for children inhospices throughout the UK, includingMartin House at Wetherby.Inspired by the work Lifelites does atMartin House, David made a generouspersonal donation towards buying a newhome entertainment system for thechildren and young people at the hospiceand he also secured a donation towardsthe package from the Provincial GrandMaster’s Fund.David said, “It has been a privilege towork as a volunteer on behalf <strong>of</strong> bothLifelites and the <strong>Province</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Yorkshire</strong><strong>West</strong> <strong>Riding</strong> from the beginning <strong>of</strong> theproject in 2000 and I never cease to beinspired by the care and dedicationdisplayed by the hospice staff.”The new entertainment system at MartinHouse children’s hospice includes a TV,Blu-Ray player and Mi-Hub surroundsystem. The Mi-Hub surround systemboasts surround sound, radio i-pod playerDVD usb port and flashcard reader all inone unit.Pete Moseley, a care worker at thechildren’s hospice, said, “The children areoverjoyed with the LED TV and the Blu-Rayplayer and the Mi-Hub has caused a glut<strong>of</strong> people wanting one. It really does meana lot to them and to us at Martin House.”R W Bro John K Clayton, ProvincialGrand Master, said, “We are very pleasedto make this contribution and help Lifelitesin some small way with their work at MartinHouse. This donation mirrors the work wehave done to support hospices bothlocally and nationally over many years andwe know how important it is for children’shealth care and well being that they areable to enjoy the time they spend at thehospice.”Lifelites chief executive, Simone Enefer-Doy, said, “We are so grateful to the<strong>Province</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Yorkshire</strong>, <strong>West</strong> <strong>Riding</strong> andDavid.
