RESIDENT AND COMMUTER LIFECommuter HouseLoc<strong>at</strong>ed across the street from the main building, the commuter house canaccommod<strong>at</strong>e up to eight people a night. All accommod<strong>at</strong>ions are shared, hostelstyle.Students bring their own linens, toiletries, and food and are responsible fortidying up after themselves. The commuter house is intended for people who wishto stay on campus one or two nights a week during the entire semester. R<strong>at</strong>es are$175 per semester for one night per week or $225 per semester for two nights perweek.Reserv<strong>at</strong>ions can be made through the Office <strong>of</strong> the Pastor to the Community.Reserv<strong>at</strong>ion forms are available <strong>at</strong> www.lstc.edu/life/commuting.phpConduct Expect<strong>at</strong>ions and GrievanceProceduresLSTC is a place where people from a variety <strong>of</strong> backgrounds g<strong>at</strong>her to studytheology and prepare for ministry. The marks <strong>of</strong> our seminary—multicultural,ecumenical, interfaith, university-rel<strong>at</strong>ed, urban and global—shape our studentbody and <strong>of</strong>fer a challenging and enriching context in which to learn and live.The seminary expects community members to listen to and seek to understandothers, to convey th<strong>at</strong> understanding, to share their own views truthfully andcharitably, and to resolve conflicts in a manner th<strong>at</strong> allows for constructive changeand forgiveness. Students, like faculty and staff, are expected to conduct themselvesin a manner befitting leadership in the church.Expect<strong>at</strong>ions <strong>of</strong> appropri<strong>at</strong>e conduct and grievance procedures for theprotection <strong>of</strong> students and other members <strong>of</strong> the LSTC community may be foundin the Student Handbook. Inappropri<strong>at</strong>e conduct may be grounds for dismissalfrom seminary and may lead the faculty not to approve the granting <strong>of</strong> a degree.102
