RESIDENT AND COMMUTER LIFECommuter HouseLocated across the street from the main building, the commuter house canaccommodate up to eight people a night. All accommodations are shared, hostelstyle.Students bring their own linens, toiletries, and food and are responsible fortidying up after themselves. The commuter house is intended for people who wishto stay on campus one or two nights a week during the entire semester. Rates are$175 per semester for one night per week or $225 per semester for two nights perweek.Reservations can be made through the Office of the Pastor to the Community.Reservation forms are available at www.lstc.edu/life/commuting.phpConduct Expectations and GrievanceProceduresLSTC is a place where people from a variety of backgrounds gather to studytheology and prepare for ministry. The marks of our seminary—multicultural,ecumenical, interfaith, university-related, urban and global—shape our studentbody and offer a challenging and enriching context in which to learn and live.The seminary expects community members to listen to and seek to understandothers, to convey that understanding, to share their own views truthfully andcharitably, and to resolve conflicts in a manner that allows for constructive changeand forgiveness. Students, like faculty and staff, are expected to conduct themselvesin a manner befitting leadership in the church.Expectations of appropriate conduct and grievance procedures for theprotection of students and other members of the LSTC community may be foundin the Student Handbook. Inappropriate conduct may be grounds for dismissalfrom seminary and may lead the faculty not to approve the granting of a degree.102
