Connect, in the article All Hands to Work by Satish Kumar we are left with the list ofGandhis Seven Social Sins which provides an excellent starting point for the dailyreminders of how our solar villages, solar homes and solar powered lifestyles must begoverned. We must make choices based on these principles. In other words, restatedin terms of Natural Living principles to live by, we must practice the following:1. Politics with principles2. Wealth with work3. Commerce with morality4. Education with character5. Pleasure with conscience6. Science with nature and humanity7. Worship with sacrificeWe have choices to make each and every moment of every day. We need to build aculture that has a set of principles that make choice an inherently sustainablepractice. These are natural principles in harmony with natures laws. The city -stateand corporation are tools created by the rich and powerful to maintain control andlimit our choices. Independent village communities will naturally evolve as theessential glue the transforms culture in the long run. Communities, even within bigcities, are those villages within that work because the people know each other andtheir natural surroundings intimately. Despite the façade of city-state and corporatecontrol as this evolution towards independence occurs, the choices made to live invillages according to Gandhis social principles will lead to a sustainable world. AsGandhi would tell us a few corporate leaders and their puppet governments simplycant control the billions of us if we choose not to let them. It is our choice.113
