Sometimes the results will not be exactly what we envisioned. Natureaccepts this type of process and so should you, as long as you adhere to the essentialprinciples. Many times this process will lead to a more natural path towards yourgoals.The story of my journey toward Natural Living begins with the birth of my child ren.The love we feel for our children is a deeply protective one. I have discovered thatin the face impending dangers, an almost primal urge wells up inside me giving methe courage and energy to protect my children. Protect them from what , Iwondered. Any danger to their health and well being, any threat to their life, was adeep concern to me as a new father. The great danger I was reading and hearingabout in the news, books, magazine and television reports was the threat humanswere posing to their own environment. The greatest scientists of our time issued aWarning to Humanity (see Appendix A for the full text of the warning) thatstruck me as perhaps the greatest long term threat my children would face. I postedthis warning message on the bulletin board above my desk at home. My passion toact in the strongest way possible had been fully aroused.ChildrenThe late fall of 1992 saw the birth of my son Ian. At the time we lived in downtownToronto, in a wonderful old neighborhood called Riverdale. Our beautiful old househad been perfect for Leigh and me as a couple working downtown. Now, with Ianour baby, the cost of living suddenly grew dramatically. Leighs return to worknecessitated the additional expense of day care.
