8000 SERIES PORTER COUNTYLOCAL JUVENILE RULES(As amended effective January 1, 2013)LR64-JV00-8000 CITATIONThese rules shall be known as Porter County <strong>Local</strong> Juvenile <strong>Rule</strong>s and shall be cited as:“PORTER COUNTY LOCAL JUVENILE RULE “(OR “LR64-JV - “); ANDLR64-JV00-8010 ASSIGNMENT OF CASESAll cases which contain a cause number <strong>of</strong> the juvenile case type shall be filed on thejuvenile docket.LR64-JV00-8020APPLICATION OF LOCAL CIVIL AND CRIMINAL RULESThe Porter County <strong>Local</strong> Civil <strong>Rule</strong>s whether adopted by this Court on its own or inconjunction with the Porter Superior Court including any subsequent modifications or amendmentsthereto apply to all Paternity and Children in Need <strong>of</strong> Services cases, unless otherwise provided inthese Porter County <strong>Local</strong> Juvenile <strong>Rule</strong>s. The Porter County <strong>Local</strong> Criminal <strong>Rule</strong>s whether adoptedby this Court on its own or in conjunction with the Porter Superior Court including any subsequentmodifications or amendments thereto apply to all Delinquency cases, unless otherwise provided inthese Porter County <strong>Local</strong> Juvenile <strong>Rule</strong>s. The Porter County <strong>Local</strong> Family Law <strong>Rule</strong>s apply to allJuvenile cases unless there is a conflict, in which event the Porter County <strong>Local</strong> Juvenile <strong>Rule</strong>s shallcontrol.LR64-JV00-8030REPORTSAll reports required to be filed with the Court or are filed with the Court shall be filed at least 10days prior to the hearing and shall promptly be given to the parents, foster parents, Special Advocate,caseworker, probation <strong>of</strong>ficer and attorneys. If the hearing was set with less than 10 days notice then thereport shall be provided to the Court and the above individuals within 4 days <strong>of</strong> the date <strong>of</strong> the hearingbut no later than 2 hours prior to the hearing. Reports include DCS 310's and DCS 311's. If the child isnot with parents or relatives, all reports shall state what family members have requested custody andspecifically why that relative is not being considered.LR64-JV00-8040SERVICE PROVIDER REPORTAll Individuals and agencies providing service for a child or family that is the subject <strong>of</strong> aDelinquency or CHINS Petition shall provide at least monthly reports. The monthly reports shallamong other things state specifically why the service should continue and whether or not there areless costly services that can be provided by the service provider or some other service provider. Themonthly reports are to be provided to the Department <strong>of</strong> Child Services, Probation Department,CASA, parents, foster parents, and attorneys. The caseworker or probation <strong>of</strong>ficer shall keep theservice providers informed <strong>of</strong> the above individuals address so that the service providers can complywith this rule.72
