However, illness precludedPaul’s musical debut at <strong>Lafayette</strong>, andhe flew back to Florida.Bernie Guenther, a neighbor ofPaul’s in The Villages, Fla., visited Paulin the hospital during his recovery fromback surgery. Bernie had just returnedfrom a western vacation in Idaho,Montana, and Washington. TheGuenthers were excited about theirdaughter Natalie Schaefer, who qualifiedfor the Ironman Triathlon for thesecond time in three years.
