<strong>Class</strong> <strong>Notes</strong>2010–2011were married May 28 in Baltimore, Md.They live in Breinigsville, Pa., and Francworks at Lutron Electronics.Tori Andrejecsk worked as a specialeducation paraprofessional at QuakerFarms Elementary School in Oxford,Conn., last year. In August, she started amaster’s degree program in speech/language pathology (communicationdisorders) at Southern ConnecticutState University. Tori stays in touch withHeather Slugaski ’09 and MeghanMuldowney ’08.In April, Hannah Smock traveled toBelarus with CitiHope International torecognize the 25th anniversary of theChernobyl nuclear disaster. Her goal wasto deliver $6.2 million in medicine tosurvivors, who are still battling healthproblems stemming from thecatastrophe.In spring, Andrew Baldridgegraduated summa cum laude fromUniversity of Massachusetts with amaster’s in environmental engineering.He works as a water resources engineerfor the Philadelphia Water Department,focusing on green stormwatermanagement.In August 2010, Andrew proposed atsunrise to his girlfriend, JacquiMolendyke, at Sea Isle, N.J. Theyplanned to marry in October, withalums Breanne Michalek, CarolynZawislak, Kyle Basting, Hank Bink,Rhodes Baker, and Zach Romano inthe wedding party. Andrew and Jacquimoved to Philadelphia’s Society Hillneighborhood.After two years at <strong>Lafayette</strong>, Jacquitransferred to Parsons The New Schoolof Design in New York City andgraduated with top honors. Her first jobwas as a graphic designer at a smallluxury stationery company on MadisonAvenue. She now works as a graphicdesigner for a direct marketing firm justnorth of Philadelphia, focusing on emailand direct marketing.Teevrat Garg finished his first year inthe Ph.D. program at the Dyson Schoolin Applied Economics and Managementat Cornell University. He has keptin touch with Sam Derrick, RyanBenjamin, Anthony Romanoski,Kyle deCant, Marc Desmond, MattMcGranaghan, and Michael Hadley.That group visited Teevrat in Ithaca, N.Y.,throughout the year. He celebrated Wine3/9 with Sam and several other Cornellgrad students.Christy Fic graduated in July fromthe School of Information Sciences atUniversity of Pittsburgh. She receivedher Master of Library Science degreewith a specialization in archives,preservation, and records management.She works at the SmithsonianInstitution’s National AnthropologicalArchives as a contract processingarchivist and lives in the Washington,D.C., metro area.Elizabeth Matecki finished theKoch Associate Program this pastsummer, a year-long, nonprofitmanagement program in Washington,D.C. She also started the D.C. chapterof Liberty on the Rocks. Elizabethcreated the street campaign of BigGovernment Gary, which was rolled outat the Las Vegas Rock and RollMarathon, then again at CharlestonCooper River Bridge Run. In August,she started Seton Hall Law School,Newark, N.J.Sarah Kolba is attending graduateschool for art history at Universityof Illinois, Urbana–Champaign. Thispast summer, Sarah got engaged toChuck Hoover, a 2008 graduate ofUniversity of Illinois, whom she metthrough her church, Illini Life ChristianFellowship. Chuck has a bachelor’sin chemical engineering and works ina chemical lab in town. They plan aJune wedding.Alan Raisman served as a sitecoordinator for two People to Peopleleadership programs at HarvardUniversity. In addition, he served as amotivational speaker, speaking to over400 students from 40 countries aboutinternational understanding andcommunity relations. In Octoberand November 2010, he served on thestaff of the Dee Adcock for Congresscampaign in Montgomery (Pa.) Countyand parts of Philadelphia. This pastspring, he became development andmarketing coordinator for LehighValley Zoo, Schnecksville, Pa.In early June, Alan spoke at the sixthannual International Town & GownAssociation University/City RelationsConference in Boulder, Colo. This wasthe first year <strong>Lafayette</strong> <strong>College</strong> wasinvolved, and Alan was the onlyalumnus of a college or university tospeak at the conference.Alan serves on the board of trusteesof People to People International andWeller Health Education Center’sOutstanding Friend to Kids awardscommittee. He is a member of theMarquis Society and spoke at CareerServices Sophomore Surge program lastFebruary.Danielle DiFede attends physicianassistant school at Long IslandUniversity–Brooklyn and lives inBrooklyn, N.Y.Emily Lloyd is a first-year student atUniversity of Connecticut School ofDental Medicine.2011Rebecca A. He is in Houston preparingto begin his first job, with ExxonMobil.Mike Handzo moved from hishome in Massachusetts to Bethlehem,Pa., in August. He will start a one-yearterm of AmeriCorps*VISTA servicewith Lehigh Valley Community LandTrust, an affordable housing initiativeunder the Community ActionCommittee of the Lehigh Valley.Kurt Yaeger’s honors thesis underRobert Kurt, associate professor ofbiology, was accepted for publication inJournal of Cancer Therapy. He willattend Georgetown University Schoolof Medicine this fall.Kelsey Slater, a Stroudsburg HighSchool alumna and star, was welcomedback as its new girls’ volleyball coach. Assomeone who made her high school’srecord books with 500 career kills, anda recent college player herself, Kelseylooks forward to teaching the girls andsharing with them her love for thegame.
