Daughter Alison just graduatedfrom Wake Forest but planned toreturn there in the fall to complete afifth-year master’s in accounting, afterwhich she will work for one of the BigFour firms in New York City. SonConnor is a sophomore at ElonUniversity. Laurie obtained herinsurance license three years ago andnow works part time in Bill’s agency,Mintz Girgan & Brightly Inc., in thepersonal lines department.The Brightlys frequently see Leo ’80and Laura Massey Magrath, who livenearby in Ridgewood, N.J. The Magrathshave two sons, Cole, who graduatedfrom Georgetown in 2010 and worksin finance in New York City, and Taylor,a junior at Washington & Lee <strong>College</strong>.The Brightlys also get together withPhil and Susan Bollman Duvall atleast once a year. He studied Mandarin atVanderbilt and twice studied in China,once for an entire semester in Shanghai.At the end of July, daughter Garethreturned from Europe, where she spenther junior spring semester in Paris,studying fashion. She planned to returnfor her senior year at Syracuse Universityto complete her degree in fashion design.Daughter Kelsey is a sophomore atUniversity of North Carolina–ChapelHill.
