Effective Date: October 24, 2007(b)Requirements <strong>for</strong> Enclosed <strong>Hexavalent</strong> <strong>Chromium</strong> ElectroplatingTanks.(1) The owner or operator of a hexavalent chromiumelectroplating facility with enclosed hexavalent chromiumplating tank(s) shall control hexavalent chromium emissionsfrom the electroplating tank(s) by:(A)(B)(C)Achieving a hexavalent chromium emission limitation of0.015 mg/dscm from each tank as measured after the addonair pollution control device(s); orUsing a chemical fume suppressant specified in section93102.8, <strong>and</strong> maintaining the surface tension of the platingbath solution at a value specified in section 93102.8; orNot allowing the mass rate of the total chromium to exceedthe maximum allowable mass emission rate determined byusing the calculation procedure specified in Appendix 7.(2) The owner or operator of an existing facility that has onlyenclosed hexavalent chromium plating tank(s) must complywith all requirements of this <strong>ATCM</strong> except <strong>for</strong> the requirementsset <strong>for</strong>th in section 93102.4.(3) If a facility has hexavalent chromium plating tanks that are notenclosed in addition to enclosed hexavalent chromium tanks,the hexavalent chromium tanks that are not enclosed mustcomply with all the requirements of the <strong>ATCM</strong> related tohexavalent chromium facilities that do not have enclosedtanks.(4) New facilities with enclosed hexavalent chromium platingtanks must comply with section 93102.4(d)(1).NOTE: Authority cited: Sections 39600, 39601, 39650, 39658, 39659, <strong>and</strong> 39666, Health <strong>and</strong>Safety Code.
