Effective Date: October 24, 2007(1) The test demonstrated compliance with the applicablehexavalent chromium emission rate specified in Table 93102.4of section 93102.4 <strong>for</strong> hexavalent chromium plating or chromicacid anodizing facilities, or 0.01 mg/dscm or less totalchromium emission rate <strong>for</strong> trivalent chromium platingfacilities, or 0.015 mg/dscm hexavalent chromium emissionrate <strong>for</strong> facilities with enclosed hexavalent chromiumelectroplating tanks complying with section 93102.6(b)(1)(A),<strong>and</strong>(2) The per<strong>for</strong>mance test was approved by the permitting agency,<strong>and</strong>(3) The test is representative of the method to control emissionscurrently in use as of October 24, 2007, <strong>and</strong>(4) The per<strong>for</strong>mance test was conducted using one of theapproved test methods specified in subsection 93102.7(c).(c)Approved test methods(1) Emissions testing shall be conducted with a minimum of threetest runs in accordance with one of the following test methods:(A)(B)(C)Cali<strong>for</strong>nia Air Resources Board Test Method 425, lastamended July 28, 1997, (section 94135, Title 17, Cali<strong>for</strong>niaCode of Regulations (CCR); orU.S. EPA Method 306, (40 CFR 63 Appendix A) with orwithout hexavalent chromium option (Method 306, Section2.2.3) provided that, if the total chromium option is used,the total chromium measurement must be assumed to beall hexavalent chromium; orSouth Coast Air Quality Management DistrictMethod 205.1.(2) Smoke Test to Verify the Seal Integrity of Covers Designed toReduce <strong>Chromium</strong> Emissions from Electroplating <strong>and</strong>Anodizing Tanks (See Appendix 5).(3) Surface tension using a tensiometer shall be measured inaccordance with U.S. EPA Method 306B (40 CFR 63Appendix A). Surface tension using a stalagmometer shall bemeasured using the procedure set <strong>for</strong>th in Appendix 8, or analternative procedure approved by the permitting agency.25
