They can be run with one or two doors (for example washers withpass-through sections where dirty and clean side are physically separated). The hoods or doors can be openedmanually or automatically.4.3.1.1.2 Tunnel cage washerOther than cab<strong>in</strong>et washers, tunnel washers operate <strong>in</strong> l<strong>in</strong>e. The items are washed <strong>in</strong> a physically separatedseries of wash<strong>in</strong>g zones, thereby be<strong>in</strong>g conveyed on a belt from load<strong>in</strong>g side to unload<strong>in</strong>g side. Separationzones and plastic curta<strong>in</strong>s amongst the wash<strong>in</strong>g zones are used to m<strong>in</strong>imize the carryover of dirt and clean<strong>in</strong>gdetergents <strong>in</strong> between the zones.
