Rosemount Tank Radar REXReference Manual308018EN, Edition 3BSeptember 20072.2 CONFIGURATIONTOOLS SOFTWAREThe FCU is configured with the FCU 2165/2175 Configuration Tools software.When the FCU is delivered it is normally pre-configured in factory. Then it isnot necessary to use Configuration Tools software unless you like to changethe configuration.Before starting, make sure to have sufficient site documentation and that youhave already planned how the new FCU will be connected to your system.The following configuration steps are required:Step 1. Site Installation (required to build structure in Config Tools): section 2.2.4Step 2. FCU Installation (actual FCU configuration): section 2.2.5Step 3. Tank Installation (required to build structure in Config Tools): section 2.2.6Step 4. Gauge Installation (actual FCU configuration, internal database): section 2.2.7Step 5. Aux Gauge Installation (actual FCU configuration): section 2.2.8Step 6. Save configuration: section 2.2.9Step 7. Download configuration: section 2.2.10You can prepare the configuration disconnected from the FCU.If you are making the configuration connected to the FCU, the computer caneither be:• Directly connected to the FCU - use a crossed network cable.• Connected to the FCU via the network - use straight cables.Either way, connect the computer to the Ethernet port on the FCU. See pages1-4, 1-10 and 1-11.NOTE!The PC and FCU must have the same network ID, i.e. the first three groups ofnumbers in the IP Address (1) must be identical but the last group must differ.If the PC is directly connected to the FCU and if an IP address change isnecessary, it is easiest to change IP address on the computer.If you have a network connection and need to change IP address, use aterminal emulation program such as Windows Hyper Terminal.See “Changing IP Address / FCU Name” on page 2-40.(1) If you are unsure of the IP address you can use PC Link, see page 2-38.2-10 Section 2. Reference Manual308018EN, Edition 3BSeptember 2007Rosemount Tank Radar REX2.2.1 SystemRequirementsSoftware RequirementsWindows NT 4.0 (service pack 6a).Windows 2000 (service pack 3).Windows XP (service pack 2).Other operating systems may work, but are not specifically supported by thissoftware.Internet Explorer 5.5 or later must be installed.Hardware RequirementsA PC capable of running one of the supported operating systems equippedwith 20 MB of available disk space and an Ethernet network card.2.2.2 Install the FCUConfig ToolsSoftware2.2.3 Uninstall the FCUConfigurationTools SoftwareInsert the FCU Config Tools CD into the CD-ROM drive of the PC. The CDshould auto-start the installer. If not, browse to the CD and doubleclickthe Setup.exe file. Follow the instructions.1. Click on Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel. Locateand select “FCU Config” in the list of applications installed on yourcomputer2. Click the button labelled “Change/Remove”.3. Click OK.The FCU Configuration Tools software will then be uninstalled. When theprocess has completed a Backup folder and some backup copies of yourconfiguration file may remain on your hard disk in the folder in which youinstalled the software.
