Given their spell-likeabilities, they have far more freedom than otherfiends, and they can be encountered on just aboutany plane.Typical Physical Characteristics: A remmanonhas the height and weight of an average adulthuman male. Its body looks supple and beautiful,but seems to lack strength. Piercingits flesh are iron hooks, rings, and bars,from which hang small scraps of papercontaining the names of thosemortals who have entered intocontracts with it.Alignment: Remmanons arecrafty, patient, and farsighted.They worm their way into agreementswith mortals, exploiting the letterof such contracts when they come due.Enjoying taking advantage of and destroying mortals, remmanonsnever hesitate to harm or pervert those they can.These fiends are always lawful evil.SocietyEven when compared to other baatezu, remmanons are arrogant.They believe they cannot fail, and that they personifythe greatest aspects of their wicked race. Few lesser devilsappreciate the subtleties of seduction and manipulation,and remmanons are quick to point out that failing in theirlessers. Remmanons command respect, however, and lesserbaatezu join a remmanon for the potential profitand instruction they can receive as the lackeysof such an ambitious devil.Remmanons travel the planes looking forfoes to trick and thwart. They take their time,working all sides against the others in a conflict,planning a decisive blow at some point tospell the ruin of all that is good and holy ina locale. When no conflicts exist, a remmanoncreates them. Its only desiresare the downfall of goodnessand purity, along with thesubjugation of the weakunder the iron fist of terribleevil.Typical TreasureRemmanons collect valuables for personal defense,as well as for the sake of appearancesand bribery. They have triple standard treasurefor their Challenge Rating.The remmanon in this entry has protectivemagic items worth 40,500 gp,which is about two-thirds of its 66,000gp total. The rest of its wealth is inthe form of coinage and art objects,or mundane jewelry.For Player CharactersRemmanons have an uncanny ability to hear magicalcries for aid. Whenever a nongood spellcaster casts agreater planar ally spell, a remmanon appears instead ofthe expected creature 5% of the time. When it answerssuch a call, a remmanon offers a contract to the caster.Bold remmanons have been known to voluntarilyinterfere with greater planar binding spells, offeringservices in exchange for a contract evenif not trapped by the calling.Remmanons in EberronIn Eberron, remmanons are native to theRemmanonMaterial Plane. Rare descendants of the quorithat invaded Xen’drik some 40,000 years ago,remmanons have hidden themselves throughout the shatteredcontinent, working their wickedness on the drowand giants of that land.
