However, like all areas ofArcadia, the military housing of the Arcadianavengers is beautiful byalmost any standard, withpractice yards and trainingareas set amid carefullysculpted gardens and orderlyrows of flowering trees.Typical Physical Characteristics:Arcadian avengers all stand5 feet 8 inches tall and weigh 125pounds, resembling attractive, athleticfemale humans with full wings.Their flesh, wings, and armor seemmade of the same silvery metal. Arcadianavengers are similar to oneanother in appearance.Alignment: Arcadian avengersare benevolent and helpful, but theysee adherence to the rules as moreimportant than kindness. They areusually lawful good, but some fallinto lawful neutral behavior, forgoingcompassion in the execution oftheir duties.SOCIETYArcadian avengers live a simple,ascetic lifestyle among the orderedbounty of Arcadia. Their lives areas structured as the laws they defend.Arcadian avengers are divided into legions,and each legion is given a specific task that defines itspurpose within the grand armies of law. The avengers areperfect embodiments of the harmony of Arcadia—freeof ambition and inner conflict, they live in peace withintheir homes despite their occasional bloody tasks. Arcadiansavengers are much more strongly aligned with lawthan with good, and as such, they are housed on Buxenus,the second layer of Arcadia.TYPICAL TREASUREArcadian avengers have little use for treasure. Like otherArcadians, they find that the bounty of their native planeArcadianavengerprovides them with all they need. Each Arcadian avengerpossesses two masterwork longswords. These functionalweapons are the tools of the avengers’ job and are seldomseen as anything more than utilitarian goods.ARCADIAN AVENGERS WITHCLASS LEVELSArcadian avengers advance in the crusader class (Tomeof Battle 8), relying on faith and martial power to worktheir will. If you don’t use Tome of Battle in your campaign,advance Arcadian avengers as paladins.Both classes are considered associated for anArcadian avenger.Level Adjustment: +2.FOR PLAYERCHARACTERSA non-evil, lawful spellcaster cansummon an Arcadian avengerusing summon monster IV or ahigher-level summon monsterspell. Treat the Arcadian avengeras if it were on the 4th-levellist on the Summon Monstertable (PH 287). Non-evil,lawful clerics can use aplanar ally spell to callan Arcadian avenger,who demands paymentin the formof a task furtheringthe cause of law.ARCADIAN AVENGERSIN EBERRONArcadian avengers are native to Daanvi, the PerfectOrder. They commonly venture to Shavarath to lendtheir swords and hone their skills in battle. OnEberron itself, Arcadian avengers hunt those whowork chaos, so they can be found in the DemonWastes and similar places across the world. Morethan one Arcadian avenger participated in the Last War, andsome of these remain in Khorvaire in self-imposed exile oras centers of celestial cults.ARCADIAN AVENGERS IN FAERÛNIn the House of the Triad, legions of Arcadian avengers maketheir home, protecting the petitioners of Toril’s heaven fromthe influences of other planes and entities. Although theavengers are bound in duty to the House of the Triad, a greatnumber of them are loyal to Helm.
