equired to support logistical operations.e. Special requests from MACOM's.f. Year end funds. This type of funding should be coordinated with theMACOM's to ensure that the funds will not be lost after a contract isadvertised.g. Operations and Maintenance Army. These are the normal funds used forfunding pavement and railroad projects.Technology Components and SourcesComponents of the technology which must be procured for the use of resinmodified pavement are: section design (may be in-house or contracted out) and acontractor to construct the RMP surfacing. The construction contractor musthave the materials and mixing plant capable of producing the RMP open-gradedasphalt mixture and, if required, a standard dense-graded asphalt mixture. Inaddition to the standard asphalt paving equipment, the contractor will need asmall (3-tonne maximum) steel wheel roller to smooth out the open-graded materialafter placement. For the modified slurry grout phase, the construction contractor will need tohave access to either a nearby concrete batch plant or one or more portableconcrete mixers on site. The grout batching equipment will depend upon job sizeand is almost always required to be the larger central batch plant. Transit mixtrucks are needed to transport the grout to the job site and for placement. Handsqueegees and squeegee operators (typically three to five are sufficient) aid in thegrout application. While the grout is being applied, the small 3-tonne steel wheelroller is used to vibrate the grout into the open-graded layer. Curing compoundsand application equipment typical to the PCC industry are used to complete theRMP construction process. The only unusual material required to produce an RMP surfacing is the resinadditive used in the cement slurry grout. Currently, the resin additive requiredfor grout production (Prosalvia-7 or PL7) is available only from a single sourceby contacting the following manufacturer's representative:Alyan CorporationP.O.
