<strong>UPANISHAD</strong> <strong>VAHINI</strong>67has not got sound or smell or taste or touch or form. It isever-existing. In whatever activity you become aware ofits presence, that activity lends its appropriatecharacteristic. In whichever sphere the Sastras discussand decide, that sphere becomes for the particular Sastras,the characteristic of Brahmam. The Consciousness whichbecomes apparent when it is limited by certain boundsor vessels—that Chaithanya is Brahmam. Chaithanyais attachmentless; but yet, when associated with objectslike the physical body, It gives the impression that It isattached. From the fact that when the waters of the lakeare agitated the image of the Sun under the water shakes,you cannot infer that the Sun in the sky, which is remoteand afar, also shakes! The Sun and the sheet of water areunrelated. No relationship can be posited between thesetwo. Similarly when the body undergoes growth, decay,destruction, etc., it gives the impression that the Atmatoo is so affected; but, the Atma is unaffected. Brahmamis beyond the reach of the intellectual seeker. It can bereached only by those who give up the intellect as auseless instrument. Experience alone is the method ofapproach, the proof, the result. The ultimate state ofBrahma Jnana is the end of all enquiry, all search. ActualRealisation, Sakshathkara is the fruition thereof. Thishighest stage is reached in Samadhi, the quietening of allagitations in all levels of consciousness, though ofcourse, the preliminary steps of Sravana, Manana and
