Concrete Slabthe Onix onto the first barb of the supplymanifold, making sure the tubingcovers the entire fitting. If the Onix isdifficult to push onto the barb, lubricatethe end of the Onix with somewater.Do not use soap, oil, WD-40 ® , orother petroleum or silicone basedlubricants as they may damage theinterior of the Onix tubing. Soap orlubricants may make connections andsplices leak, even at low pressures.Slide the Onix clamp back over theOnix hose and barb connection. Ifusing TorqueTite clamps, do not overtighten.Tighten the TorqueTite clampusing a preset torque driver accordingto the settings stated on the instructionsthat come with the clamps. Moreinformation on how to apply the Onixclamp connections can be found in theAppendix.Caution: DO NOT over tighten theclamps. Over tightening may causean improper fit.For detailed information on the propersteps to conducting a pressure test, refer to the Appendix of the installationmanual.Step 10:The Concrete PourTo help detect possible damage causedduring the concrete pour, keep the systemunder pressure. If damage is done, locate the area in question and removethe section of tubing from the concrete.Clean off the damaged area andinstall a Watts Radiant splice fitting.Wrap the fitting with electrical tape toprotect it from the concrete. Bring thecircuit back up to pressure to ensure aproper fit on the splice. Some minor pressure changes willoccur due to the increased internaltemperatures of the concrete as itbegins the curing process. Fluctuationsin air temperature may also cause aslight change in the test pressure. Inmost cases, a 10—15-lb. drop in pressureover a 24-hour period is notuncommon. For more information onpressure testing, see the Appendix.page 42Watts Radiant: Onix Installation Manual
