Chapter 7 - Demersal FishAtlantic HalibutWithin the region, the highest numbers of Atlantic halibutoccurred along the coastal shelf in eastern Mainefrom Penobscot Bay to Grand Manan Banks, in Canadianwaters from Digby, Nova Scotia to Browns Bank, andalong the northern edge to the Northeast Peak of GeorgesBank (Figure 7-51a, b). Statistical analyses did not identifysignificant trends across the species’ range in the Gulf ofMaine in either United States or Canadian waters (Figure7-51c, d).
