This Charter has been developed within the Framework of the HACCCharter of Service Users’ Rights and Responsibilities and The City ofBurnside Aging Strategy.This Charter aims to ensure that service users and/or carers are notdisadvantaged due to their age, gender, marital status, sexual preference,disability, financial circumstances, cultural or indigenous background ortheir beliefs.As a Service User and/or Carer of the City of Burnside Home andCommunity Care Program you have the following rights:My RightsTo be treated as anindividual with courtesyand respectTo be assessed forservices withoutdiscriminationTo make informeddecisions about supportand optionsTo receive high qualityserviceWhat This MeansI have a right to be treated with courtesy,dignity and respect.I have a right to receive services that respectmy culture, beliefs, values and personalcharacteristicsI have a right to be involved in decisions andmake choices about my planned and receivedservices.
