The line is then threaded in the channel provided andthrough the safety clamp. The safety clamp will close automatically when thedoor is shut. Pushing the handle back down secures the door in place forpumping.Once the IV line is secured in the pumping unit, all clamps on the line must beopened to ensure that the fluids can flow freely. The safety clamp will ensurethat no fluid flows freely through the line.The back panel of the pump unit housing provides access to all componentsinside. The back panel is secured with eight 3/8 in bolts which pass throughholes in the back panel and screw directly into the rest of the housing. Whenremoved, the back panel may be laid down so that the interior of the unit maybe accessed unhindered.79
