5. MAINTENANCE ––––– 89(2) Replacing fuel filter elementReplace the fuel filter elerment at specified intervalsbefore, it is clogged with dust to advesely affect the fuelflow. Also, replace the fuel filter element after the enginehas fully been cooled.1) Prepare a waste oil container.2) Close the fuel cock of the fuel filter.3) Turn the retaining ring counter-clockwise and removethe cup. And put the drain in the cup into a waste containerto dispose properly. (When removing the cup,hold the bottom of the cup with a piece of rag to preventthe fuel oil from dropping. If you spill fuel, wipe off thespillage completely.)4) Remove the element (pull out downward) and replacewith new one. And wash the cup inside with clean fueloil.5) Insert the new element to the bracket and install thecup to the bracket by tightening the retaining ring clockwise.Tightening torque: 13∼16N•m (1.3∼1.6kgf•m)6) Open the fuel cock and feed the fuel oil. Refer to3.2.2,5IMPORTANT:Be sure to use genuine Isuzu part (super fine mesh filter).
