4. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS ––––– 574.3.1 Daily starting the engine procedureStart the engine as shown below.1) Place in neutral position of the clutch or turn the mainswitch OFF to release the load on machine unit.2) Open the cocks of the oil / water separator and fueltank.3) Insert the key into the starter switch.4) Turn the key from the OFF to the ON position. Checkall alarms are normal. Refer to 4.2.15) Set the accelerator (Governor lever) on the midlespeed position.6) Turn the key to the START position to start the engine.Release the key as soon as the engine starts. The keyautomatically returns to the ON position.If the engine does not start, turn the key to the OFFposition first before trying to start again.IMPORTANT:Do not hold the key at the START position formore than 15 seconds at a time. Any longerattempt will overheat the starter motor.Take yourhand off the keyafter start-up
