3.5 Checking the Engine Oiland Cooling Water3. BEFORE YOU OPERATE ––––– 45When engine oil or cooling water is supplied for the first time or replaced, run the engine for a while and checkthe oil and water levels again.The apparent levels go down because of being distributed to the engine oil passages and self-bleeding air inthe cooling water system.Refill with engine oil and cooling water until they reach the specified level.(When checking the engine oil again after engine running, wait for about 10 minutes and then check the levelas it takes a while for engine oil adhered to the engine internal parts to return to the oil pan.)• For refilling with engine oil, refer to section 3.3.• For refilling with cooling water, refer to section 3.4.
