Maintenance, Inspection, and Repair Programof Construction Site BMPsThe contractor shall use the following guidelines for maintenance, inspection, and repair of BMPs identified in the SWPPP incombination with the Field Log Sheets.All BMPs must be inspected in accordance with the General Permit requirements for the associated project type andrisk level 2. Ifsequencing is different than the SWPPP,those modifications must be written intothe plan prior to the construction activity.• Update the erosion and sediment controlplan / SWPPP if different erosion andsediment controls are installed, other thanwhat is shown on the plan.• Adjust timing of construction activity ifcontractor schedules change, or if weatherpatterns become unfavorable.• Verify that protective measures remain inplace.• Restore damaged protection measuresimmediately.• Repair areas where erosion is evident with areapplication as soon as possible.• Inspect longevity of straw mulch andtackifiers in achieving erosion control.• Maintain an unbroken, temporary mulchedground cover while disturbed soil areas areinactive. Repair any damaged ground coverand remulch exposed areas.• Reapplication of straw mulch and tackifiermay be required.• If seed is used, irrigation may be needed toestablish vegetation.• Irrigation systems should be inspected formalfunctions, line breaks and coverage.• Where seeds fail to germinate, the areamust be re‐seeded within the plantingseason.
