Since the lip isnot spring energized, the radial lip contact forces are lowerthan a rotary FlexiSeal, which allows the seal to function atmuch higher surface speeds (up to 5000 sfpm [25 m/s]).The seals are manufactured from a wide variety of PTFEcomposites and other machinable plastic materials. StandardO-ring choices are fluorocarbon, silicone, nitrile and EPDM.This broad foundation of standard O-ring and PTFE materialscan be tailored to suit nearly all applications. Standard andNon-standard FlexiLip profiles are precision machined to fitinch-fractional and metric gland geometries. The FlexiLipdesign is extremely versatile because the seal is machinedfrom a molded PTFE sleeve. Standard tooling and programsare used to manufacture seals efficiently by eliminating setupand programming time.
