These pressure ratings are based onthe assumptions that there is a large extrusion gapas shown in the first illustration and that thetemperature at the gap is less than 300 °F (149 °C).Tightening the extrusion gap to around 0.015" (0.38 mm)on non-excluder lip profiles can double or triple thepressure rating for the seal.
