2Terminating the BusEach Genius communications bus must be terminated at both ends by its characteristicimpedance, as explained in the Genius I/O System User’s Manual.If the Bus Controller is located at the section end level of a 1 bus, 1 install the appropriate resistorfigure bi level 1across its Serial 1 and Serial 2 terminals.table_big level 1SERIAL 1SERIAL 2SERIAL 1SERIAL 2Wiring for Bus ContinuityFor a redundancy system, where another CPU on the bus will be capable of acting asa controller, jumpers should be installed on the Bus Controller’s terminal assembly asshown at right. This will allow possible removal of the terminal assembly in the futurewithout breaking the continuity of the bus.For bus continuity, jumper the Serial 1 terminals together and jumper the Serial 2terminals together (even if the Bus Controller is at the end of the bus).
