The present visual landscape isone dominated by agriculture with intermittent rural residences, urban areas and industrial ormining activities. The initial impact to the visual environment is LOW negative acting in the longterm, and has already occurred. The impact has definitely impacted on the local regionThe study site has several existing high voltage power lines that impact on the visual character ofthe landscape.Table 12-11: Visual Initial Rating ScaleImpact Significance Spatial Temporal Probability RatingScale ScaleImpact to LOW Local Long Term Has ModerateVisualoccurred2 3 4 5 3Additional ImpactDuring the construction phase, the local residents will be able to see the construction workings. This will impact negatively on the visual character of the landscape but is of short duration.ZITHOLELE CONSULTING
