February 2011 40 126195.3 SensitivitiesWater bodies also provide important systemic functions in the landscape such as transportation ofnutrients, weathering and deposition of soils, and formation of landscapes to mention a few. Waterbodies also represent sensitive areas because they provide habitat for a wide variety of speciesterrestrial and aquatic species, particularly avifauna.Several sensitive wetlands and other bodies are present in the study area, and these water bodiesshould be avoided as far as possible. The photos below are examples of a sensitive habitat to arange of avifauna and as such should be avoided.
