The apparatusenables to take SEI imageswith maximum magnifying of 30 000x.The apparatus is utilized for palaeontologicaland environmental purposes;it provides a complex service in samplespreparation and processing fromtheir evaporation plating till the photodocumentation.The laboratory equipped with SEI image of nannoplankton.brushing and polishing facilities forsamples preparation of the CompanySTRUERS (Denmark) provides materialscutting and polishing, preparationof thin sections and polished thin sections,polished specimens, as well asspecial oriented samples and platesfor gaseous-fluid inclusions study.The laboratory of fluid inclusionsresearch is equipped with thefacility LINKAM II for analyses of homogenizingtemperatures and temperaturesof fluid inclusions fusion. The results of fluid inclusionsCL image of quartz.measurements have been adopted in solutions of petrologicalissues of the geological projects in the scope of the SGIDŠ.The high-quality optic microscopes NIKON and JENAPOLwere used for microphotographs acquisition.The works continued in the scope of the TSÚS Bratislava order(Technical and Testing Institute of Constructions) for elaborationof simplified petrographic descriptions of aggregate exploitedin selected regions of the Western Carpathians according to STNEN 932-3:1999, which is in accord with valid European StandardEN 932-3:1996/A1. DIVISION OF GEOANALYTICALLABORATORIESIn the year 2007 the Division of Geoanalytical laboratories (GAL) was focused in:• analyses for projects solved in the scope of the tasks ordered by SGIDŠ and theMinistry of Environment SR,• analyses for Partial Monitoring system – monitoring of groundwaters quality ofthe Slovak Republic,• analyses for extern clients – state and private organizations,• fulfilling the commitments of the Reference Laboratory of the ME SR for Geologyand Rock Environment,• fulfilling the criteria for accreditation and notifi cation.Head of the Division: Ing. Daniela Mackových, CSc.Quality management system in GALThe quality of carried out analyses is guaranteed by theGAL accreditation in terms of the requirements of internationalstandard ISO/IEC 17025:2005i. The Division of GeoanalyticalLaboratories is accredited to carry out tests of geologicalmaterials, solid fuels and combustion products, working atmosphere,internal atmosphere of buildings, imissions, emissions,soils, sediments, waste, plant materials, f all types ofwaters and water leachates. Besides the above the GAL areaccredited for sampling of waters, soils, sediments, waste,coal and atmosphere. The Certificate on Accreditation No. S004 is valid till 2010. The full extent of accredited tests is listedin (27 pages) in Amendment to Certificate on AccreditationNo. S 004 at the internet site www.snas.sk.Following the two-year intense preparation and testing ofnew methodologies for analyses of samples working atmosphereand emissions and meeting the authorisation requirementsfor specific area of authorised emissions measuringCertifi cate No. N-005Certificate on Accreditation No. S 004the GAL was accredited on January 10, 2007 on keeping the authorisation/notification requirementsNo. N-005 in terms of the Act 478/2002 on atmosphere. The certificate is granted bythe Ministry of the Environment SR which supervised the state administration of the atmosphereprotection. The GAL carry out quantitative and qualitative determination of selected contaminantsin samples of waste gases emissions and polluted gases,which are produced by the atmosphere polluters. The goalis to determine the values of emissions indicators servingfor calculation of the emissions volumes.Procurement of analyticalresults qualityIn the scope of the system of measuring qualityprocurement the Geoanalytical Laboratories participateregularly in international and national comparativetests (ICT), which cover the sphere of analysesof geological materials, of soils, sediments, solid fuels,waters, emissions and waste for inorganic andorganic indicators.The overall number of analyses within interlaboratorytests for the year 2007 was 886.
