TOTALPAC2 Page 1 of 2TOTALPAC2 Integrated Fire Protection SystemProgramming Section - Dry Pipe SystemProgrammingYour TOTALPAC2 Unit without control panel is factory wiredfor one of the following configurations: Dry Pipe - Standard Dry Pipe High Pressure (HP ® )This TOTALPAC2 Unit has been provided without anIntegrated Control Panel since its dry contacts aresupervised by a remote panel. The remote control panelshall also be Listed and be compatible for supervisingsprinklers supervisory and alarm contact devices. Refer toFIELD WIRING DIAGRAM for more details. Make sure thesystem will perform as required and is tested to confirm itmeets all requirements.Note: All field wiring should be terminated in the contractorsjunction box and terminals provided (TBA and TBB) asshown on the FIELD WIRING DIAGRAM. No connectionshould be made directly in the trim components as thiswould void warranty and might prevent the normaloperation of the unit.Operation Dry Pipe - StandardWhen a sprinkler operates, the system air pressure isreduced. When system air pressure is reduced to thedifferential pressure tripping point of the valve, water supplypressure in the inlet chamber lifts the member assembly offthe water seat and flows into the intermediate chamber. When equipped with the optional Accelerator and externalAnti-flood Device, a drop in system air pressure causes theAccelerator to operate. Operation of the Accelerator causesthe Anti-flood Device to open allowing system air pressure toenter the dry valve intermediate chamber. This immediatelydestroys the pressure differential, causing the memberassembly to rise faster. The intermediate chamber is normally at atmosphericpressure and is connected to the alarm line. When the valvetrips the intermediate chamber and alarm line arepressurized with the system water pressure, activatingalarms connected to the Dry Valve trim.Sprinkling continues until the main supply water valve ismanually closed. Dry Pipe High Pressure (HP ® )When a sprinkler head operates, pressure in the systempiping escapes, causing alarms controlled by Air SupervisorySwitch to activate and Anti-Flood Device to open. WhenAnti-Flood Device opens, pressure is released from thepriming chamber of the Deluge Valve faster than it issupplied through a restricted orifice. The Deluge Valveclapper opens to allow water to flow into the system pipingand alarm devices, causing the Water Motor Alarm Gong (ifinstalled) and water flow alarms connected to the alarmpressure switch to activate. Water will low from any opensprinklers on the system.Sprinkling continues until the main supply water valve ismanually closed..1 Air Pressure Drop: The operation of a sprinkler headcauses the water discharge. Any air pressure lossallowing the pressure to lower under a set valueactivates the supervisory alarm pressure switch..2 Supervisory of the Valves: An abnormal position of avalve will cause the closing of the Valve SupervisorySwitch contact.
