Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BUTE) is one of Central Europe’s largest higher education<br />

technology facilities. One of the areas of education is automotive engineering. As a new form of co-operation<br />

with the industry BUTE - as well as other universities - organised ‘knowledge centers.’ AVVC deals mainly<br />

with the following groups: Control of Vehicle Groups (based on vehicle to infrastructure and vehicle to vehicle<br />

communication), Control on Vehicle Level, Intelligent Actuators, Platform Systems and Solutions.<br />

Knorr-Bremse Brake Systems Ltd - plant Kecskemét<br />

The Kecskemét plant started its licence-based production in 1969 but now belongs to the Knorr-Bremse<br />

group. Knorr-Bremse has launched its R&D activities in Hungary in 1995 and in 1999 it was the first<br />

multinational company to establish a development center in Budapest. R&D was established at the Knorr-<br />

Bremse plant in Kecskemét mainly for pneumatic chassis control and as technical support for production. In<br />

Kecskemét you will see the up-to-date manufacturing of air processing and brake control units as well as<br />

R&D and test activities.<br />

Visteon Hungary Ltd - Székesfehérvár<br />

Visteon Hungary Manufacturing and Trading Ltd was founded in 1990 as a company full owned by Visteon<br />

Corporation. The main activity of the company is to produce and deliver parts and subsystems for the<br />

automotive industry in Europe. Main product groups include fuel pumps and delivery systems, pressure<br />

regulators, air conditioning compressors, ignition coils, dashboard displays and family entertainment<br />

electronics. Operational excellence is a top priority.<br />

Magyar Suzuki Corporation - Esztergom<br />

The company was established by its major shareholder Suzuki Motor Corporation in 1991. The kick-off<br />

model, Swift, rolled off the production line in 1992, followed in 2000 by Wagon R+, Ignis in 2003, the new<br />

Swift in 2005, SX4 in 2006 and Splash in 2008. By now over a million and a half Suzuki vehicles - assembled<br />

in the Esztergom factory - are used on domestic and European roads. Apart from the emphasis it places<br />

on quality, Magyar Suzuki aspires to an environmentally conscious mode of operation. All models currently<br />

assembled at Esztergom are built with engines complying with Euro 4 environmental standards. MSC has<br />

become a reliable, low risk, authorized economic operator with the long-term advantage of the certification<br />
