Integration DeploymentIf installing the Websense filtering components on the Squid Web Proxy Cachemachine is likely to have a performance impact, install Websense software on aseparate machine outside the array, and then install the Squid plug-in on each memberof the array. Integration DeploymentNetCache integrationNetCache has been specifically enhanced to integrate with Websense software. WhenNetCache receives a client’s Internet request, it queries Filtering Service to find outwhether or not the site should be blocked. If the site is assigned to a permitted category,Filtering Service notifies NetCache that the site is not blocked, and the site is returned tothe user.Figure 29 shows Websense filtering components installed together on a singlemachine.
