Special Features in the ESC Congress 2012 Scientific Programme‣ Congress Spotlight: “From Bench to Practice”This spotlight theme was chosen to address a translational approach to apply innovations andintroduce them into clinical practice. The development of scientific innovations has posed a greatchallenge to clinical scientists to implement these developments into clinical practices and also onclinical physicians to use innovative techniques in daily practice.‣ Topics by VillageFor the delegates‟ convenience most scientific sessions were arranged by topic in themedVillages (Villages 1-10).‣ Highest Scored posterInteractive plasma screens in front of Room Munich,Central Village displayed the highest scored postersthroughout the entire congress.‣ Clinical Case Corner: discussion forum on the best Clinical CasesClinical cases selected by the nucleus members of theESC Cardiologists of Tomorrow were presentedduring each of these interactive sessions in a stateof-the-art,open forum room (Village 10).‣ Live-Streamed Interactive SessionsPresentation:Objective:12 sessions were live-streamed in 2 rooms.(12 press conference were also live-streamed)To see the level of interest in such a service.Target audience: Those that cannot attend the Congress (or be present in the room at the specificsessions being streamed).Pre-registration was needed (to send them a personal link to connect).Interactivity:Only the 4 sessions from the Cardiologists of Tomorrow track included a chat tool.The moderator (not one of the chairpersons) received the message & questions ona dedicated computer and forwarded them to the chairpersons and/or presenter atan appropriate time during the session. A second computer was there to accesstwitter in case some questions were tweeted.13
