Exhibition B:‣ 76 Stands including: 5 ETSA Stands (Emerging Technology Showcase Area) International Associations Area (23 Associations) 1 Publisher (outside the Publisher‟s Row: FB Communication) Ambulance (area with 2 ambulances offering health checks)‣ Two new ESC Initiatives: Innovation in Cardiology: this area was dedicated to allow industry experts to makea short illustration on the latest developments in cardiovascular care – thesepresentations took place during the break periods and offered delegates theopportunity to exchange on new and recent innovations. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Workshops: the activities on this stand were:- ERC stand- ACC WG stand- CPR workshops, approximately 4 per day focusing on CPR & AED skills- Meet the instructors‟ sessions/slots‣ 5 catering points and 5 seating areas: As per Exhibition A27
CPR Workshops at ESC Congress 2012For the first time at ESC Congress, CPRworkshops organised in partnership with ERC(European Resuscitation Council), GRC (GermanResuscitation Council), the German CardiacSociety and the Working Group on Acute CardiacCare were available free of charge to delegateson Stand B2-C550 in Exhibition Hall B.Promotion of this new initiative was made in theFinal Programme, in various e-mailings, on thehomepage of ESC Web Site, as a “Daily News” on theMobile App, on Facebook, Twitter and through aninterview of Dr Nikolaou and Prof. Vrints on ESC studio(600 views during the congress)2 types of 90 minute workshops were organised: CPR & AEDRefresher sessions and Advanced CPR Skills. It was also possibleto meet the ERC certified instructors before or after theworkshops, during 30 minutes.8 instructors were present, with 7 closed rooms and 1 open airstage used for the sessions and to draw interest.A significant number of people followed the “meet theinstructors” sessions. Prof Andresen's lectures on peri-arrestarrhythmias were the most attended.A total of 266 participants (out of 336 available seats) attendedthe workshops, with 84 preregistrations (online with 15 Eurodeposit, refunded after completion).Innovation in CardiologyInnovation in Cardiology was a new project launched atESC Congress 2012.The concept was to provide an ESC space at theExhibition hall where the best Innovations selectedfrom the Industry was presented by experts duringbreaks.It offered delegates a selection of Innovationspresentation (30 min), accessible in the Exhibition hall.28
