Project. This project involves the establishment of a globallyoptimal production and supply structure to develop newpickup trucks and multi-purpose vehicles to be marketed inmore than 140 countries around the world. Utilizing ToyotaIndustries’ strengths in production operations, we launchedthe production line for manufacturing and processingaluminum die cast components and assembly of engineswithin a short pre-production period.Toyota Industries will continue contributing to theestablishment of TMC’s IMV supply structure that will mutuallylink numerous production bases on a global scale. As a primeexample, in May 2004, Kirloskar Toyoda Textile MachineryPrivate Limited (KTTM), one of Toyota Industries’ subsidiaries inIndia that manufactures and sells textile machinery, initiatedproduction of aluminum die cast components for manualtransmissions. KTTM supplies these components to ToyotaKirloskar Auto Parts Private Ltd. (TKAP, a joint venture in Indiawith TMC and the Kirloskar Group, in which Toyota Industrieshas a 26% stake), which in turn supplies manual transmissionsystems to the IMV Project.Toyota Industry (Kunshan) Co., Ltd. (TIK), our subsidiary inChina, is manufacturing foundry parts mainly for automobileengines. Addressing a shortage in production capacityresulting from increased demand, we established oursecond manufacturing base in the country, Toyota IndustryAutomotive Parts (Kunshan) Co., Ltd. (TIAP), a joint venture inwhich Toyota Industries has a 60% stake, in cooperation withTaiwan-based Lioho Machine Works, Ltd. and Toyota TsushoCorporation.
