Details of significant interests of members of the Councilof Ministers are therefore available publicly as part of this register.No Accounting Officers hold any interests significant to their roles.2.9.6 AuditorsThe financial statements for the <strong>States</strong> of Jersey are audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, who areappointed by the Comptroller and Auditor General under the Public Finances (Jersey) Law 2005. The Reportof the auditor on the Accounts is included with the Accounts.Audit fees and non-audit fees paid to the external auditor are disclosed in Note 6 of the accounts.The Accounts have been properly prepared under the Public Finances (Jersey) Law 2005, in accordancewith UK GAAP as interpreted for the <strong>States</strong> of Jersey by the Jersey Financial Reporting Manual. The <strong>States</strong>’accounting policies are outlined in the Accounts and have been fairly and consistently applied. The <strong>States</strong>keeps proper and up to date accounting records and take all reasonable steps to prevent and detect fraudand other irregularities.There is no relevant audit information of which the <strong>States</strong> of Jersey’s auditors are unaware, and all steps havebeen taken to identify any relevant audit information and to establish that the <strong>States</strong> of Jersey’s auditors areaware of that information.An Audit Committee, with an independent chair and two other independent members, operates throughoutthe year, considering internal control issues.2.10 Corporate Social Responsibility2.10.1 Environmental ResponsibilityThe <strong>States</strong> of Jersey recognises its environmental responsibilities and the impacts of its many and variedoperations upon the environment. We aim to recognise this by acting sustainably and operating ourfacilities to the highest environmental standards. Good resource management is not only beneficial tothe environment, it also makes commercial sense. We recognise that by reducing the energy demand ofour organisation, our running costs are lowered and our carbon emissions minimised. In addition throughour procurement process we aim to ensure that we undertake business with companies that have soundenvironmental practices.41
