REMUNERATION <strong>REPORT</strong>REMUNERATION POLICY4 Remuneration Report4.1 Remuneration PolicyPay for all <strong>States</strong> of Jersey employees is determined by the <strong>States</strong> Employment Board and at the end of <strong>2011</strong>the <strong>States</strong> of Jersey completed the second year of a two year pay award (2% in 2010 and 2% in <strong>2011</strong>). The<strong>States</strong> is reviewing its methods of employee remuneration and has started discussions with its workforceabout the future shape of reward within the public sector. The remuneration level for Senior Managersis determined by a job evaluation process for each post and the agreed pay award for Civil Servants isapplied to Senior Managers’ pay. A performance related pay scheme is not in operation at present for SeniorManagers or for other Civil Servants. Senior Managers are normally appointed on permanent contractsof employment with a notice period which is either that prescribed by law, or a longer notice period of sixmonths.4.2 Council of MinistersAs elected members of the <strong>States</strong> of Jersey, members of the Council of Ministers are entitled to remunerationin line with recommendations of the <strong>States</strong> Members’ Remuneration Review Body. For <strong>2011</strong> <strong>States</strong> Memberswere entitled to remuneration of £44,832, which includes a sum of £3,650 for expenses (2010: £44,032with £3,650 expenses).
