Artist benefits were either in the form ofeconomic benefits or skill development benefits. The WA Percent for Art policy isargued to provide a real income for WA Artists. According to Art Coordinator 3 “Interms of Percent for Art in WA, you definitely have to say that artists have benefitedin a monetary sense in being able to make a living from working on public artprojects. There is a lot of money being spent on public art”.The generation of financial income for artists was an important part of the Percent forArt scheme, as was the extended supply of finances from percent art projects to awider supply chain of sub-contracted personnel was noted by arts coordinators.114
