account when these electronic methods are devised.
This chapter gives a summary of techniques and
approaches used over the past 30 years and how we
arrived at where we are today and where PMS/
PMDD/PMSD research may take us in the future. The
milestones are recorded, although it is not comprehensive
and is likely to have some omissions. In Chapter 5,
Pearlstein gives further insight into this area of
research, particularly the valuable information that can
be derived from many of the above techniques in relation
to investigation, prevalence, and the impact of the
disorder.
