Note: URL values are relative to the WebHelp system root directory (the<br />

directory containing the whxdata directory). Complete URL paths including<br />

protocol reference are also allowed, but they will be resolved in the client browser<br />

where the help is displayed.<br />

Modifying Text and Links<br />

The following sections describe how to edit book names and entries, delete books<br />

and entries, and add books and entries.<br />

Editing a Book Name<br />

To edit the name of a book in a DHTML TOC, open each whxdata/whtdata##.xml<br />

file in a text editor until you locate the desired entry. Change the name<br />

value of the entry to modify the book name displayed in the table of<br />

contents. For example, to edit the name of a TOC book called Home, you would<br />

modify the following element in whxdata/whtdata0.xml:<br />

Editing an Entry<br />

To edit the text or destination of an entry in a DHTML TOC, open each<br />

whxdata/whtdata##.xml file in a text editor until you locate the desired <br />

entry. Make the necessary changes to the NAME and URL values of the <br />

entry. For example, to change the topic name "About <strong>Windchill</strong> Administration",<br />

update the name value of the entry, and to update the URL to point to a<br />

different hyperlink target, change url value of the entry:<br />

Deleting an Entry or Book<br />

To delete a TOC entry or book, remove the or entry from the<br />

whxdata/whtdata##.xml file. Removal of a tag requires removal of the<br />

closing tag per XML rules.<br />
