the right panel depends on whether or not you have requested a display of all<br />

possible mounts.<br />

When the radio button labeled Show only existing mounts is selected, the right<br />

panel displays all mounts associated with the selected host, vault, or folder.<br />

When the radio button labeled Show all possible mounts is selected, the right<br />

panel displays the following:<br />

• If the site is selected, all possible mounts for the hosts on that site.<br />

• If a host is selected, all possible mounts to that host. Double-click a potential<br />

mount (a mount with no defined path) to invoke the New Mount dialog box.<br />

Double-click an existing mount to open the Update Mount dialog box.<br />

• If a vault is selected, all folder and host combinations possible or already<br />

defined for that vault. Because they are logical entities, vaults cannot be<br />

mounted.<br />

• If a folder is selected, all hosts on which that folder is or could be mounted.<br />

Double-click a potential mount (a mount with no defined path) to invoke the<br />

New Mount dialog box. Double-click an existing mount to open the Update<br />

Mount dialog box.<br />

You can use the Vault Configuration window menus and toolbar buttons to<br />

perform such actions as the following:<br />

• Create and update vault components<br />

• Schedule revaulting<br />

Adding and Updating Hosts<br />

• Generate backup information<br />

• Enable and disable the status of objects<br />

• Clean up your vaults by removing unreferenced files.<br />

• Validate a single mount or all mounts of an object.<br />

Select File > New > New Host to add a host. Select Object > Update or doubleclick<br />

a host icon to modify the selected host.<br />

Hosts are identified by the Domain Name Service (DNS) name or IP address you<br />

specify. If you enter a DNS name, ensure that no blank values are included in the<br />

name specification.<br />

The External Storage Administrator does not verify the validity of the host name<br />

you enter.<br />
